Rufus Paul Wilke, age 79, of San Antonio, died Wednesday, October 11, 2006. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and Korean War. Mr. Wilke was born in Albert, TX, and was a lifelong farmer, rancher, avid pecan grower and self-taught hard worker. He was a supervisor at Sears & Roebuck for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emile and Elise Danz Wilke and sister, Florence Icke.
Survivors: wife of 45 years, Norma Jean Cadena Wilke of San Antonio; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Wilke of Stonewall, TX; brother-in-law, Richard and Minerva Cadena of Dallas, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 14th from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
Visitation will be at Schaetters Funeral Home in Fredericksburg, Sunday, October 15th from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M.
A Service will be held Monday, October 16, 2006, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall, with interment in the Wilke Cemetery in Stonewall.
