
The Durham family moved to Claremore, OK in the early 1920's. Upon graduating from high school Ruth worked in the County Courthouse.
After marrying Van Crockett in 1942, the couple lived in Claremore with their children until 1949 when they moved to Texas. They lived in several southwest Texas towns before moving to San Antonio in 1968.
Ruth moved to Lockhart a few years after her husband's death, residing at the Golden Age Home at the time of her passing.
Crochet and counted cross stitch were her favorite pastimes. She was an accomplished ceramic artist, winning ribbons in shows in and around San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, two sons-in-law and a grandson.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Mary Alice Bradeen of Grand View, ID; three children, Lora Lee Brunelle of New Braunfels, TX; Linda Tarrant of Rainier, WA and Larry Crockett Linda Mae of Twin Falls, ID; two grandchildren, Cody Brunelle of Brentwood, CA and Katheryn Bilbo Jack of Elgin, TX; a great-granddaughter Zoe Bilbo; and extended family.
Her loving heart and quiet spirit will be greatly missed by all who have known her.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 5th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
