Ruth R. Kelley

Ruth Reade Kelley, born Oct. 21, 1929, Richmond, VA, died March 5, 2011. Graduated from Miami High School. Attended Duke Univ. where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. Also attended College of William & Mary where she met her husband, Edward W. Kelley. They married June 10, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Annapolis. After sharing her husband’s 19 years of active duty USAF, they resided in Windcrest for 30 years. Ruth belonged to Windcrest Women’s Club and was a charter member of St. John Neumann Roman Catholic Church, active in its Women’s Club, Lay Ministry group, Hospitality & Service Guild, and Meals on Wheels delivery group. Ruth was a lady commander with star of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem.

Survivors include Kathleen & Bill Tilton, Nancy Kelley & Peter LaBelle, Terri & Marty Sloan, Thomas Kelley, Michael Buchan, Sean Tilton, Brian & Barbara Sloan, and Stephen Sloan. In lieu of flowers, request contributions to the Lions Camp at Kerrville, Army Residence Center Catholic Charities, or your charity of choice. Rosary followed by Memorial Mass on March 19 at 1 p.m. at the Army Residence Community Chapel.
