He was born on February 19, 1935, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to Manuel Negron and Victoria Aquino. His twin brother did not survive, and Victoria dedicated Samuel to the Lord afterward.
Samuel completed three years of pharmacy school prior to being drafted into the army.
He served for twenty years, followed by fifteen years in the Civil Service.
He married Dai-Re Pak in 1960. They had three children.
He worked as a pharmacy technician for his entire military career, mentoring many people during that time. He was highly respected for his expertise in pharmacy formularies.
In his spare time, Samuel enjoyed fishing, woodwork, and spending time with his family.
His friends and family will always remember him as a diligent worker, taking on a second job to ensure his children had educational opportunities. He valued education tremendously – he obtained an associate’s degree in automotive mechanics and real estate, and he also completed Bible Academy at Faith Outreach Center. He was very proud that all of his grandchildren had college degrees. He was also a very faithful and compassionate man, believing with all his heart that God was faithful as well and attributing his long life to others’ prayers. For all his life, he loved to tell stories and share laughter with those around him.
He is preceded in death by Victoria, Manuel, Sara, and Victor Negron.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dai-Re Negron, who helped take care of him and was a source of great comfort in his final years, and their three children (Helen Battle, Elizabeth Strong, and Jim Negron), grandchildren (Sarah and Benjamin Strong, Samuel Battle, Eliana and Elizabeth Negron), and great-grandson Gregory Strong. He is also survived by his brother, Lito Negron.
