Samuel Rendon Sanchez

MSgt. Samuel R. Sanchez (Ret), age 80, passed away on Thursday, Aug 22, 2013 after fighting a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease at the Frank Tejeda VA home in Floresville, TX. He was born on October 12, 1932 preceded in death by his Father Rev. Pedro Sanchez.

Samuel was a graduate of Lanier High School and was a faithful Kelly Air Force Base employee of 32 years.

He proudly served during the Korean War in the U.S.A.F and Desert Storm with the 433rd TAC Reserve. Preceded him in death his sisters, Mrs. Esther R. Martinez, Austin, TX., Mrs. Rebecca Valle, San Antonio, Tx., Mrs. Anita Campos, Pearsall, Tx. and brother David Sanchez Sr. of San Antonio, TX.

Samuel is survived by his wife of 60 years, Asta S. Sanchez, children, sons: Samuel R. Sanchez Jr. and wife Rosa Sanchez; Alfred Sanchez Sr. and wife Veronica Sanchez; Daughter: Agusta Linda Lou Gorrell; and grandchildren, Alfred Sanchez Jr., Ashley Rae Sanchez, Andrew Ryan Sanchez, Krista Sanchez, Shavawn Brozovic and husband Steve Brozovic, Christopher Gorrell and wife Katie Gorrell, and Samantha Braud and husband Mike Braud; great-grandchildren Taylor Guzman, Madison Sanchez, Luke & Logan Brozovic, Jadynn Braud. Nephew: Joe Valle Jr., son, Kenny Valle, and daughter, Jenny Valle Rodgers.

The family would like to thank Odyssey Healthcare of San Antonio Hospice and Caregivers.

The family will have Memorial Service for friends and family at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, Sept 9, 2013 at Porter Loring Chapel downtown.

Final condolences will be at 11:30 a.m. at Porter Loring Chapel on 1101 McCullough Ave, Tuesday, Sept 10, 2013. Interment @ 1:00 p.m. will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
