

San Juanita I. Perez, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on April 11, 1951, San Juanita or Janie as most knew her, was a proud graduate of Edgewood High School, Class of 1969, and a cherished member of the Magnolias.
Throughout her life, San Juanita was a dedicated and valued employee at several organizations, including Gordon’s Jewelers, Sea World of San Antonio, S.A.S.P.A., and Vision Works, where she retired in 2017. She brought warmth, reliability, and joy to every workplace she was part of.
San Juanita loved music and dancing, and she enjoyed spending time with her lifelong friends from the Class of 1969 and her close-knit family. Her vibrant spirit and loving heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Gilbert and Nieves Ibarra, and her son-in-law, Rick Shelton.
San Juanita is survived by her children, Monica P. Shelton, Dalia Marie Perez, and Michael Javier Ibarra; grandchildren, Matthew Corey Shelton, Anissa Marie McAlpin (Isaac), Gabriella Raquel Perez, Cheyenne Amber Marvelli (Jordan), and Adrian Josiah Perez; and her great-grandchildren, Aubree, Kesley, Ronin, and Stetson; as well as her grand-pups Dallas, Paco, Rocky, Storm, Whiskey, & Milo. She is also survived by her sister, Ofelia “Ofie” Aguero (John Vargas); nephew, Jacob Aguero and his wife Valerie; great-nephew, Aaron Aguero; and numerous extended family and lifelong friends.
Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will continue to shine through those who were blessed to share life with her.
There will be a Visitation held Wednesday, July 16, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. On Thursday, July 17, 2025 our doors will open at 7:30 a.m. we will go in procession for a 9:00 a.m. Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 617 S Santa Rosa Ave, San Antonio, TX 78204, burial will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
