Sandra "Sandy" Jan Gaskin Perkins was born in Raton, NM on December 30, 1939 to Richard James and Eleanor Newell Gaskin. Living most of her early life in Roswell, NM, she graduated from Roswell High School in 1956. She began working in the oil & gas industry when she was 16, and moved to San Antonio in 1968. She went to work for geologist Wilford Stapp, then for oil & gas attorney Lucien Morrison, and then independent oil & gas operators Douglas & Gauntt. Through the oil & gas industry, she met her beloved husband, Stanley L. Perkins, a Petroleum Geologist, and they married on January 18, 1975. Sandy was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, San Antonio Desk & Derrick Club, The Petroleum Auxiliary, San Antonio Petroleum Club, and the San Antonio Ski Club. Sandy was a multi-tasked oil & gas professional. She was a petroleum landman who excelled in all areas of the profession, including title analysis and contracts, and was also an oil & gas accountant and administrative executive. She worked as a partner with her loving husband in the oil & gas business in all of the above areas for 37 years, and served as an officer of several family companies. With this full time business schedule, she somehow found time to be the ultimate mother, raising, nurturing and advising eight children. To fill her spare moments, she loved to entertain their many friends in their home, and for many years, orchestrated some of the best New Year's Eve parties San Antonio had ever seen. Best of all, Sandy loved fishing in the roaring streams of Colorado, and a good fisherman she was. She especially loved their home in Creede, Colorado, where they spent much of their time over the last 20 years. She skied the mountains of Colorado, Montana, California, Utah, and New Mexico, and loved traveling from Japan to Europe to Central America. Her last few years were spent RVing around the US. She was fun loving, and caring in all the things she did. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Stanley L. Perkins; children, Stanley Perkins, Jr. and wife, Vanessa, Douglas Anderson, Rena Lynn Curry, David Anderson and wife, Jeanie, Les Perkins and wife, Jann, Michelle Van Den Berghe and husband, Bo, Kim DiBiaggio and husband, David, Janece McClung and husband, Scott, and their beloved dog, Prissy; grandchildren, Bryan Anderson, Lindsey Perkins, Natasha Curry Peterman, Cory Van Den Berghe, Briana Curry, Kelly Anderson, Kelsey Perkins, Erin Van Den Berghe, Amy Anderson, Dakota Perkins, Ashley Perkins, Jessica DiBiaggio, Nicholas Anderson, Dominic DiBiaggio, Anthony DiBiaggio, and Emily Perkins; great-grandchildren, Gabi Curry, Caden Plumtree, Sandra Anderson, and Laila Peterman; sisters, Shirlee Ward and husband, Jim, Mary D'Atri, Jaime Gaskin; and nieces and nephews too numerous to count.
