Sandra Kaye Talton left this world a beloved grandmother, mother, aunt, and sister at the age of 77. She was born to James Albert Chambers and Katy Belle James Chambers on November 24, 1947, in San Angelo, Texas, and entered the gates of heaven on April 6, 2025, when she went to sleep and awakened in the presence of our Holy Savior, Jesus Christ and joined her husband, Lester Harvel Talton.
Sandra attended Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. While working at Luby’s, she met her husband Lester, and from there their love began. Sandra’s life with her husband Lester led to many places being called home. Their marriage started on September 10, 1964, at College Hills Baptist Church in San Angelo. When Lester was sent to Mountain Home Air Force Base, they relocated to Idaho and began their family by having their first child, James Thomas. Lester and Sandra then moved to Tyler, Texas and Austin, Texas where Lester worked for Youngbloods Fried Chicken. They moved into Tommy and Irene’s house, Lester’s mother and stepdad, in Mesquite, Texas after Irene’s death in 1968. There they had their second and third sons, Jason Andrew and Jeffery Powell, who were both born in Dallas, Texas. Lester and Sandra lived and raised their family in Mesquite, Texas for 18 years. In 1984, after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, they relocated near family in San Angelo, Texas. In 1996, Lester and Sandra moved near Sandra’s parents’ house in Tennyson, Texas. There they happily lived in Tennyson for 26 years, providing open doors, sharing meals with family, and hosting campfires and golf cart trips around their property. When Lester passed away in 2022, Sandra relocated to her son Jason’s house in San Antonio, Texas. She lived a busy, joy-filled life with Jason for the last 3 years until she could rejoin her husband in heaven.
Two of the many qualities Sandra will be remembered by are her welcoming attitude and sassy nature. You always knew how much she loved seeing you, and she always reminded you to come back again soon to see her again. Sandra also lived a life full of love, fueled by an everlasting devotion to being a Christian and sharing His Word. She was also a devout Prayer Warrior, always referring to God and his guidance. In her youth Sandra was a member of the band where she played french horn and was a twirler. Some of her hobbies include developing a detailed family history and tree, making homemade ice cream for family, taking care of her plants, scrapbooking, and playing video games, legos, and lincoln logs with her grandkids.
Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Talton; parents, James and Katy Chambers of Tennyson, Texas; and her sisters, Georgene and Jimmie Delores Chambers.
She is survived by her 3 sisters of San Angelo, Texas and 1 brother of Los Fresnos, Texas - Sheila Chambers, JoNelle Chambers, Patti Frazee, and John Chambers; 3 children - James Talton, Jason Talton, and Jeff Talton; 6 grandchildren - Jordan Talton, Meagan Talton, Hannah Talton, Hope Ayers, Jameson Talton, and Victoria Talton; and 1 great grandchild, Olivia Talton.
