

She was born on April 23, 1946 during Fiesta Week and as a result, was also nicknamed La Carnavál for being the life and humor of any gathering. She was preceded in death by her parents Benigno and Frances Lopez.
Sandra graduated from Providence High School in 1964. She attended San Antonio College and was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from St. Mary's University. The ultimate teacher and reader, she earned a Master of Education in Reading Education from SWTSU TSU and used her exceptional reading skills to teach the youngsters at SAISD for almost 20 years, particularly her beloved Lanier High School, until she took medical leave.
Sandra is survived by her husband of almost 39 years, Loreto G. Lee Treviño; children, Frances John Phillip Santos, Loreto Giovanni Gino and Anagabriela Treviño Dallas, Loretta Luis Garcia; our adopted son and Gino's best friend, Max Galavez; her sister, Eleanor and brother-in-law Albert Garza; her brother Roland Lopez in-laws, Dr. Imelda Sámano McAllen, Juan and Carmen Moreno Houston, Bill and Dr. Irene Gulley Brownsville, Joe and Teresa Morales Austin, Bill and Margaret Stone Sugarland, Luis and Janie Treviño League City, Mike and Rosie Coulter Dallas, Mary Treviño San Antonio, Henry Treviño Pharr, Hopie Treviño Pharr, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States and overseas.
Sandra will be remembered for her gorgeous green eyes, fantastic smile, beautiful laughter, her sense of humor, sharp wit and intelligence, and spiritual and religious intelligence and convictions. Reading to our children and mothering half the world, the wholesomeness of her heart will never be surpassed. We thank the Lord for blessing us with her loving spirit beginning on November 16, 1968, our wedding anniversary.
A private reception for family and friends will follow at Embassy Suites NW, IH-10 West, immediately North of the I-10/410 Interchange North of Crossroads Mall.
