Sandy Ann Valdez

Sandy was born San Antonio to Guadalupe and Soilo Castoreno on November 1, 1960. She attended McCollum High School in San Antonio and graduated in 1979. She married Edward Valdez on November 3, 1990. She graduated from University of Phoenix with a Master’s in Business. She owned and operated Xcel Medical Solutions for 9 years. She was also a DJ and Emcee for many years.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Guadalupe and Soilo Castoreno.

Sandy is survived by spouse Edward Valdez, Children Curt Valdez, Cory Valdez, Cortney Valdez and Christopher Valdez; siblings Gloria Venegas (Jose), Dora Huron (Roy) and Soilo Castoreno III (Stephanie); Grandchildren Stella Rose Valdez and Kehlani Valdez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Roy Huron, Jr., Randy Huron, Brandon Huron, Michael Anthony Zamarripa, Matthew Castoreno, Jason Castoreno, Ronnie Cantu and Eric Enriquez.

Visitation will be held at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, located at 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, TX 78238, on March 2, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will also take place at the same venue on March 2, 2026, at 7:00 pm.

The Funeral Mass is scheduled for March 3, 2026, at 10:00 am at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, located at 7893 Grissom Rd, San Antonio, TX 78251. Burial will immediately follow at Mission Burial Park South.
