

Sara Gabay Hart, 96 passed away on June 27, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on January 6, 1926, in Tangier, Morocco to Rafael Gabay and Rena Benayon Gabay. Sara was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Rene Hart; husband, James D. Hart; sisters, Ester Sarfati and Solange Azulay; and her brothers, Alberto Gabay, Jackie Gabay, and Mauricio Gabay.
Sara is survived by her son, Mark A. Hart and daughter-in-law, Angelica; and son Claude P. Hart;
grandchild, Alexandra Cobos-Hart; brothers, Dov Gabay and Yehudah Gabay; and many nephews and nieces.
Saras family grew up in Tangier, Morocco and immigrated to Israel in 1953. Sara married her late husband, James D. Hart who served with the United States Air Force. Saras family was stationed at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, New York, and later stationed at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas where she lived the rest of her life.
Sara was a long-time member of Temple Beth-El. She was very proud of her Jewish heritage and loved to participate with family and friends when celebrating Jewish holidays. She also enjoyed spending time participating in activities at the Jewish Community Center and visiting family in Israel.
Sara is remembered as a glamorous and giving woman who loved fashion and socializing. She was impressively fluent in 7 languages (English, Hebrew, Spanish, French, Arabic, Portuguese, and Italian). She had no difficulty engaging in a conversation during her travels.
