Scott J. Baird

Scott taught English in Japan for eight years before taking a position at Trinity University in San Antonio in 1974. After his retirement and transition to professor emeritus in 2009, Scott continued his involvement with the San Antonio Road Runners, Rise Recovery, various choirs, and the Bexar County Historical Society.

Scott loved to travel, and he loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 49 years, Renee. Scott is survived by his loving companion, Kay Johnson; daughters, Nicole Simon (Tracey) and Tania Uribe; grandchildren, Brian Bates (Angee Ong), Cody Bates (Ellie Pavliska), Austen (Ashley) DeMariano, Calvin Lawson, and Levi Krcmar; great-grandchild, Oliver Jay Pavliska-Bates; brothers, H. Robert Baird, David V. Baird (Barbara), and Ray Baird (Marty); and sister, Ann Townsend.
