Selena LaRae Prado flew home to be with our Father on December 29, 2020. Selena was born July 19, 1994 in Fairbanks, Alaska, to parents Larry Prado Jr. and Linda Martinez Prado. A charismatic and cheerful child, Selena won the hearts of family and strangers alike. Her joyful and positive nature beamed vibrantly. Anyone who crossed her path was left with her everlasting imprint.
Selena fought most of her life and defied all odds after being diagnosed with HMI. She carried a flame inside her that burnt ever so fiercely. She was a fighter. Her smile illuminated a room and her laughter captivated the attention of all who were near. Music inspired her soul and she took every opportunity to dance. Selena’s personality outshined her condition. Anyone who had the honor of meeting Selena, quickly found that she was specially formed by the hands of God. Selena was exactly who she was meant to be. Her presence was a privilege and now her memory will live on in the hearts of all who have loved her so deeply.
Selena will be joining her grandfather, Larry Prado Sr. and grandmother, Olga M. Guzmán in Heaven. She is survived by her mother, Linda Martinez Prado, her father, Larry Prado Jr. and wife (Melissa), along with her maternal grandfather, Antonio S. Guzmán and paternal grandmother, Rachel Prado. She will be dearly missed by her siblings Aleah, Mya, Kaylanie, and Larry Prado III. Selena has numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who have always shown her unconditional love.
Selena’s “Hey Derr” and her “Pa-corn” will forever be heard and her kisses will always be sought. Fly high baby girl, you were always our angel.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, January 7, 2020, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
