

Sharon Carlson, age 60, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. Sharon was born on October 31, 1965, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was raised in San Antonio, a place that brought her immense joy and became her forever home. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
In 1994, Sharon married the love of her life, Jim Carlson, and together they built a life centered on family and service. Sharon was a devoted wife and mother, deeply involved in her children’s lives. Throughout their school years, she generously gave her time through organizations such as the PTA and Band Boosters, touching countless lives over more than 18 years of involvement.
Sharon found immense joy in being a grandmother, lovingly known as “Mimi.” Her family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Sharon will always be remembered as a compassionate, loving, and selfless friend, someone whose kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Rayford Kersh and Alwina Kersh; her birth parents, Clive Chu and Elizabeth Chu; and her sibling, Andrew Chu.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Carlson; her children, Conner Carlson with Carey Carlson and Tyler Carlson with Meagan Carlson; her grandchildren, Rowan Carlson and Sophie Carlson; her brother, Brian Chu; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Sharon’s legacy of love, devotion, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
