Sharon Parks Hatley went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on May 20, 2013 at the age of 59. Sharon was born December 23, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of James Byston Parks, Sr. and Juanita Midgett Parks. She was a graduate of Churchill High School, and attended Texas State University. Sharon was the Head Technician in charge of testing and caring for race horses at Bandera Downs Race Track. She passionately loved all animals, especially her own horses and other pets. The only things she loved more than animals were her family, friends, and her husband, Richard. He was the center of her life, and she was the center of his. She loved life, and loved being active. She loved snow skiing, water skiing, the outdoors, and road trips across America. Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Parks, Sr., and her brother, Jimmy Parks, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Richard B. Hatley; mother, Juanita Parks; brother, Bradley Parks; sister-in-law, Liz Parks; nephews, Jimbo Parks, Brenden Parks, James Allen Sr., James Allen Jr.; nieces, Tina Parks Allen, Makayla Allen, and Faith Allen; many cousins, friends, and colleagues who were very blessed to have had Sharon in their lives. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
