Shirley married Jerry, the love of her life in 1954 and began their adventure. Together they saw the world and raised four children in a nomadic life as an Air Force family.
She enjoyed playing slots, games of all kinds, shopping, but mostly her grandchildren. Shirley was one of a kind who never met a stranger.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvyn J. "Jerry" Kanter, Lt. Col. USAF Ret., and grandson, Brett Kanter.
Shirley is survived by her children: Deborah Freedman (Marc), Jack Kanter, Mark Kanter (Linda) and Samuel Kanter; grandchildren: Brian Freedman (Lucie), Michael Freedman (Breanna), Natalie Freedman, Joel Kanter (Denise) and Aimee Kanter; sister, Joan Bernstein (Stuart) and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
