Shirley was a lifelong member of Agudas Achim Synagogue.
She was preceded in death by her adoring husband of 51 years, Isadore Tudzin; and her two sisters, Ruth and Evelyn in 2013. Shirley is survived by her three children, Sally Scharff, Stanley, and Lisa Marie Tudzin; her wonderful grandchildren, Matthew, Sheena and Samantha, with their loving spouses, Corey Solitaire and Dr. Gilad Birnbaum, as well as four very special great-grandchildren, David, Raina, Izzy and Hazel. And she loved them oh so very much, they were so dear to her.
Her life was blessed in so many ways, but none more precious to her than the 21+ years of daily care for her mother. That lasted until her mother was 98 ½ years old.
Shirley’s passions were playing Mah Jongg 3 times a week, Scrabble nightly with her daughter, Sally; cooking, gardening and making her wonderful chopped liver for friends. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, Shirley loved her San Antonio Spurs and was so proud that her husband named the team in 1973.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Compassus Hospice and Loving Hands for their exceptional care. Shirley will always be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the ability to open her home and take care of any family member who needed help.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 11:00 am at Agudas Achim Memorial Gardens, 1727 Austin Highway. Rabbi Jonathan Hodson will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Tudzin, Matthew Scharff, Dr. Gilad Birnbaum, Corey Solitaire, Craig and Doug Goldberg, Alan and Stuart Schwartz and David Solitaire.
