Shirley Whitley

She was born as Shirley Alden Timbes and was the child of proud parents Thad Bell Timbes and Frances Bowron, - born on November 29, 1928 in Dallas, Texas.

She attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Southern Methodist University in three and a half years with a BS degree and achieved many honors at SMU and belonged to Kappa Kappa Gamma and was their Social Director and wrote their news letter.

She started modeling part time when in high school at Neiman Marcus shows and continued during her life, was runner- up as Miss Dallas and was part of the Powers Modeling Agency.

She also did charity work in Dallas and San Antonio. Worked for a time as a spokesperson and flight attendant for Braniff Airways where she met and married Tom A. Whitley. Her first love was children.

She is survived by sons, Thomas Allen Whitley Jr. of San Antonio and Timbes Alden Whitley & wife, Carol and granddaughters, Cela and Cosette Whitley of New Zealand. She always loved flowers and children!!!
