

Simon is survived by his daughters, Esther Reyes Rodriguez (Victor) and Adelina Reyes Copeland; sons, Gilbert R. Rosas (Cecelia Garcia R. Rosas) and Ernesto Reyes (Tandra Rodriguez);
Granddaughters: Alexizz Nichole Rodriguez, Mercidez J. Rodriguez, Raquel Flores (Cecil Cantù), Abby Post (Chris), Desiree Renae Rosas Avita (Javier), Myrine Reyes, Natalia Delgado;
Grandsons: Nicholas Rodriguez Garza (Angie), Marcus A. Rodriguez, Victor G. Rodriguez, Kane Rodriguez (Jonathan Noah Geurkink), Cecilo Beltran, Jesus T. Rosas, Victor A. Rosas, Isaac A. Esquivel-Reyes (Jecinda Galindo) Cesar T. Rosas (Delia Destiny) Giovanni Dakota Reid Rosas, Aaron Barbosa, Alex Reyes; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; 2-sisters Maria Rodriguez (Carlos) and Rosa Pena (Joe) and numerous nieces and nephews located in Ohio, Illinois and Texas that impacted his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Grandson Gilbert Rosas Jr., Four brothers, Ben Reyes, Alberto Camareno, Manuel Camareno, Genaro Camareno; sisters, Maria Conception Camareno, Felipa (Camareno) Rodriguez, Lupe (Reyes) Hernandez, and Audelia (Reyes) Rodriguez
Simon worked in the Iron Industries in Illinois for over 35 years working for companies and retired from both AM Castle & Co. from Oak Brook, Il. And Richard Wilcox (Iron Workers of America- Aurora, Il) . He also lived in McAllen Texas for 25 years in (1996-2021) working for 10 years as a Security Guard for Laredo National Bank. Simon was Divorced and spent his last four golden years living with his daughter Esther and his son-in-law Victor Rodriguez Jr and their family in San Antonio Texas.
He loved the classic Tejano music and going to the casinos and playing slots and black jack. He took many trips to Hollywood Casinos in Illinois , Eagle Pass Casino and even Las Vegas. He liked watching football and his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Another of his favorite pass times was cooking on the grill for his family, sitting around and telling stories of picking vegetables and fruits. Going to the dances and spending time with family is what he adored more than anything else. He was a very proud man, head strong with the softess heart. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the prayers, flowers and compassion that we have received. May God continue to bless you all.
