S/MSGT.Alvin T. "Al" DeFrees, USAF Ret age 61 of San Antonio died Thursday, October 3, 2002. Born in Oneida, NY, he graduated from Oneida High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 23 ½ years and 10 years in the US Postal Service. He was a Pastoral Administrator for 3 years at St. Vincent de Paul Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Master of 4th Degree Faithful Navigator-Assembly 2040 Grand Knight-Council 5262, and a member of the American Legion Post 579. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Patricia; children Bill DeFrees and his wife, Pam, Donna Dalfrey and husband, West, and Michael DeFrees and his wife, Annette; grandchildren Mike, Dana, Brian, Trent, David, and Amanda DeFrees; step-grandchildren Weston Dalfrey Jr. and wife Karen, Rita Dalfrey, and Wilton Dalfrey; step-great grandchildren; Keaton and Dawson Dalfrey; sister Joan Beadle and husband, Joe; cousin Phyllis Thurston and husband, Alvin; sister-in-law Helen V. Bergan; brother-in-law William M. Clark Jr. and wife, Janet; numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Northeast Baptist Hospital and Hospice of San Antonio.
