She is preceded in death by her parents, Refugio and Eslinda Zamora and brother Refugio Zamora Jr.
She is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Ruben Lauriano, son Juan Vasquez and wife Eileen, granddaughter Emily Dominguez, sisters Gloria De La Garza, Ninfa Arredondo, and Sylvia Carroll with husband Tim, and numerous nieces and nephews and family members.
She found much joy in being the Spurs Lady. Every costume she wore was designed and handmade herself, making sure she didn't duplicate one. She was kind to all fans regardless the team they were rooting for. She loved taking photos with anyone who asked, bringing smiles to everyone. Sovia was a great artist. She did murals for the Harlandale school district and worked as a teachers aide for 30 years. Her truck was her pride and joy. When she drove around the city, she would turn up the speakers. In addition to her deep love for her family, Sovia found great joy in spending time with her son Juan in Corpus Christi. Whether it was the warmth of family gatherings or quiet moments together, she cherished the trips to visit him, and those memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
The Spurs Lady Sovia lived life to the fullest.
