

With deepest sorrow, we announce that United States Army Specialist Emilio Gonzalez, age 32, passed suddenly on Sunday, May 17, 2020, in Germany. Born in Los Angeles, California, to parents, Sr Raphael Gonzalez and Ines Lopez. Emilio resided in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High school in 2006. He enlisted as a Military Police (MP) Soldier in the Army in 2009. Emilio was a member of both the Protective Services Detachment, U.S. Africa Command, and the Stuttgart CID Office, while assigned to the 5th MP BN (CID). During his time with the Protective Service Detachment, SPC Gonzalez supported the unit's mission to provide worldwide, close-in protection to US. Africa Command Combatant Commander and to ensure his safety from assassination, kidnapping, injury, and embarrassment. He was a vital member of his team by assisting in both administrative and investigative functions. SPC Gonzalez also completed a combat deployment to Kirkuk, Iraq in 2011 and another combat deployment to Baghdad Iraq in 2015. Emilio was an avid weight lifter and inspired so many with his passion and discipline. He was preceded in death by, father, Sr Raphael Gonzalez. Emilio Gonzalez is survived by his mother, Ines Lopez; his brothers, Nick Aguilar, Ricardo Aguilar, Rafael Gonzalez; and his sister, Nora Aguilar.
The family will be receiving friends from 4:00-7:00PM on Sunday, July 5th at the downtown Porter Loring Mortuary.
