

Stanley Clark Wiggins went to the arms of our heavenly Father at noon on Friday, November 13, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Baird, Texas, on September 17, 1935, to Stanley and Virginia Wiggins. He grew up in Abilene, Texas, and graduated from Abilene High School in 1954. He went on to Hardin Simmons University, graduated with a B.S. degree in 1958. He received his M.A. degree from North Texas State University in 1968. He married Fraya Hathorn from Justin, Texas, in 1958, who predeceased him in 1986.
He joined the United States Marine Corps in the 1950's. He served during the Vietnam War where he earned the Combat Bronze Star, Navy Commendation Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal, among others, in his almost 30 years of service to his country.
After retiring to San Antonio, Texas, in 1985, Stan taught English literature and grammar at several colleges and universities in San Antonio influencing many young people. He was also active in MCROA, Founders Lions Club and MC Cryptologic Assn.
He is survived by his wife, Cathryn, who he married in 1989, and his son Brian K. Wiggins of San Antonio; his sister, Jennie Ruth Hitt of Houston; nieces, Sherri Perry of Houston and Lisa Sheehan of San Antonio; as well as stepson, Joseph Seward, wife Cynthia and their children, John, Jayme and Jacob, of San Antonio; and stepson, Jon Seward, wife Charleen, of Colorado Springs, CO.
