Stephen Winston Hooper

Stephen Winston Hooper of San Antonio, TX passed away January 30, 2024, at the age of 88. He was born in Houston, TX on November 10, 1935, to the late Robert Winston Hooper and Juanita Parker Hooper. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lennah Jo Hooper, and survived by his son, Byron Keith Hooper, and grandsons, Benjamin Winston Hooper and Ryan August Hooper.

Stephen and Lennah were married on July 18, 1964, and were married for 58 years until her passing in November 2022. They lived in San Antonio where Stephen worked for 31 years as a civil service employee at Kelly Air Force Base until his retirement in 1995. Stephen was a member of the Albert Pike Masonic Lodge #1169, the Scottish Rite Bodies, and Alzafar Shrine. Stephen also spent time in the Air Force Reserves.

Stephen enjoyed dove and quail hunting, searching for arrowheads, floating the Frio River with friends and family, and traveling with Lennah to many sporting events to watch his son, Byron, and grandsons, Ben and Ryan. Stephen had a special lifelong connection with many high school friends. He attended Fiesta parades where he would spend time with these friends and their families.

Stephen was a special husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his life taking care of his family's needs. He was one of a kind with a quick wit and will truly be missed.

The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
