Susan Jennings

Susan Jennings, age 75, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to parents, Evelyn and Roy Jennings Jr., on October 26, 1947, in Laredo, Texas. Susan attended The University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree. Later, she taught at Lamar Junior High School.

Susan was a woman of the land, and fiercely enjoyed ranching. A committed animal rights advocate and avid wildlife enthusiast, Susan loved to accompany her father on early morning deer hunts at the family ranch.

Storytelling was her favorite conversation, and she joyfully captivated others with her sharp wit and amazing memory. Her favorite pastime was playing cards with dear friends, and she often organized groups to travel to Las Vegas, where lifelong memories were made and the occasional large jack-pot was won.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Roy Jennings, Jr. Susan is survived by her sister, Pamela Person (George); brother, Rob Jennings III (Lucila); as well as nieces, Alexandra Person, Catherine Aikman, Christine Jennings; and nephews, Rob Jennings, IV and Oscar T. Jennings. Her great nephews are Maxwell Levy, Val and Luke Mooty; as well as great nieces, Medora and Peyton Levy.

Her loving heart was demonstrated in her generosity to others. She will be greatly missed. May she rest in eternal peace.

A private memorial service will take place at a later time.
