Susan Jane Jones

Susan Jane Jones, loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Jan 10, 2025 in San Antonio, tx. Susan was born on February 29, 1948 in San Antonio, Tx to her parents Charles and Winifred Coffman. She graduated from Edison High School in 1966. She married her sweetheart Elmore L. Jones on July 6, 1968 in San Antonio, Tx. Susan was a devoted Christian and attended church every Sunday even if it was remotely. She loved children. People could see that when she worked at Park Village Elementary and Hopkins Elementary School as a Paraprofessional. She was a patient and kind person when working with her students and her children. When she needed to be she could be sassy and witty when she needed to be. She loved to travel and be with family and friends. She was loved by many people and she felt that everyday of her life.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Elmore L. Jones, mother Winifred Coffman, Father Charles Coffman, Sister Emilie Stege and Brother James Coffman.

Susan is survived by Daughter Jennifer Tucker (Ken), Son Warren Jones (Sarah), Sister Dorethy Dobbs, Brother Robert Coffman, Grandchildren Charles Jones (Esmeralda), Kenneth Tucker III, Kimberly Tucker, Eric Jones, and Great Grandchildren Ryanne and Tyler Jones; many nieces and nephews.

The family will accept visitors at 6-8pm on Monday, February 3, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone wears colorful clothing (no black please).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to your favorite charity. The family of Susan Jones wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Gentiva Hospice and her Nurse Loren for the kindness they showed her.
