Susan K. Koerber, age 71, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Spring Branch, Texas. Born in San Antonio on March 20, 1954, to Opal (Duderstadt) and Cyril Durbin, Susan lived a life rich in love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Susan will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who poured her heart into her family and her home. She shared 51 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Patrick Gerard Koerber, and together they raised three children.
She found joy in the simple pleasures—working in her yard, tending to her koi pond, and spending time with family. One of Susan’s greatest joys was spending time at the coast, especially at the family’s home in Rockport, Texas. Whether fishing, soaking in the breeze, or simply sitting on the porch with loved ones, Rockport was her happy place and a backdrop for many treasured memories. It was there that she found peace, sunshine, and memories that became cherished family traditions. Whether fixing things around the house and yard, cooking big family meals, or baking something special for a gathering, Susan was always at the heart of family life. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and delicious food, especially during the holidays and family get-togethers.
Susan’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind: her husband, Patrick Koerber; sons, Wade Koerber and Brad Koerber (Leisel); daughter, Melissa Koerber; brother, David Durbin; five grandchildren, Joseph Koerber, Kaci Koerber, Riley Koerber, Chase Koerber, and Cole Koerber—and one great-grandchild, Lianna. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends whose lives were touched by her warmth.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Cyril Durbin, and her siblings, Danny Durbin and Rhonda Appelt.
Though our hearts are heavy, we celebrate the life Susan lived—a life rooted in devotion, laughter, and enduring love—and take comfort in knowing her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured and memories we hold dear.
