Susan Renee Walker, age 62, passed away on February 14, 2026. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Susan grew up and lived in San Antonio and later resided in Selma, Texas. She was a woman of boundless kindness and an adventurous spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love that touched everyone who met her; she was truly beautiful inside and out.
A Life of Learning and Teaching
Susan was adopted as an infant by Billy and Carmen Walker of San Antonio, Texas, who raised her with a foundation of love and devotion.
She was a proud alumna of Oak Grove Elementary, Garner Middle School, and MacArthur High School before graduating from Stephen F. Austin University.
Susan dedicated 25 years of her professional life to shaping young minds as an elementary teacher at Stahl Elementary School. Her passion for children was her true calling; she didn't just teach her students, she championed them.
A Heart Built for Family
Susan's greatest joy was found in her family. Her dream of motherhood was realized through the adoption of her three children: Megan Walker, Lyric Walker, and Austin Denton. They were the lights of her life, and it filled her with immense happiness to have children of her own to love and cherish. Later in life, Susan was further blessed to find and connect with her birth family, where she was embraced by three siblings, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.
Her Legacy
Known for being "always there to help," Susan had a gift for making people feel seen and valued.
Whether she was embarking on a new adventure or offering a shoulder to lean on, she did so with a warmth that stayed with people long after they met.
She maintained a multitude of close friendships throughout her entire life, keeping those she loved near from her earliest school days until the very end.

• Her beloved parents, Billy and Carmen Walker of San Antonio, Texas.
Susan is survived by:
Her children: Megan Walker, Lyric Walker, and Austin Denton.
Her brother, Michael Walker, and sister-in-law, Malinda Walker.
Three siblings from her birth family and their spouses
• Many cherished grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
