

On March 14, 2017, at the age of 89 years, Susie Santos Parada beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother went to be with our Heavenly Father. Susie was born October 29, 1927 in Elgin, Texas. She devoted her life to her family, and most importantly God. One of her many joys was playing bunco with her friends, of which she belonged to a ladies bunco club for over 20 years.
Susie is survived by her daughters, Melinda Galvan, Yolanda Slavin (Bill), Sandra Marin (Louis), and Mary Nelda Lozano (Roy); grandchildren, Danielle Jimenez (Martin), Briana Lozano, James Marin (Maegan), Anthony Lozano, Gabriella Lozano, Victoria Slavin, and Catherine Galvan; great-grandchild, Charlotte Jimenez; sister Pauline Lopez (Clement). She was preceded in death by the love of her life, husband of 54 years, Trinidad Daniel Parada; parents, Atilano and Sabina Santos, brother Joe Santos, and sister Victoria Lentz.
Susie was a woman of great elegance, beauty, strength, and shine. Her loving heart, laugh, and smile will be missed by so many.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to caregivers Rosa and Angie, and the exceptional staff at Gentiva Hospice, for their loving care for Susie, during her brief illness.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 6914 Wurzbach Road.
Interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery will occur at a later date.
