Remembering Susie
Susie was known for her faith, work ethic, strong will, and unmistakable sense of humor. She had a deep love for bargain shopping. Her favorites stores were Goodwill and Walmart. She spent many weekends treasure hunting at garage sales and flea markets.
Her favorite pastimes included watching Law & Order, Cops, and nature documentaries on Netflix. She especially loved classic monster films—King Kong, Godzilla, and Jaws. She always kept up with current events, staying informed on both local and national news.
One of her greatest passions was gardening. Susie loved all plants and cared for them as if they were part of her family—sometimes a little too much watering, but always with lots of love. She often asked her daughters, “What have you planted lately?”
Susie remained close to her roots in Laredo and often spoke fondly of her childhood there, cherishing memories with her extended family. She also shared a lasting bond with her sisters-in-law, Yolanda and Melinda, who remained dear to her heart.
We would like to extend our gratitude to her primary care physician, Dr. Denise Dahm, Dr. Ambili Ramachandran and all the staff at the University Health Robert B. Green campus.
Above all, Susie will be remembered for her unwavering love for GOD, the Virgin de Guadalupe, her family, her strength, her enduring spirit and her cheese enchiladas. She touched countless lives and leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and resilience. Her children will miss her very much.
