Sylvia A. Garcia Torres, went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Josephine Garcia, and her stepson, Bobby Torres. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Tom Torres, stepchildren, Sylvia Knight, Belinda Torres, and Roland Torres and wife Maria, sister, Lydia Soriano and husband Frank, brother Julian J. Garcia and wife Blanche, brother-in-law Gilberto Torres and wife Patty, devoted cousin Richard Aguilar and wife Socorro and 16 step grandchildren. The family expresses special thanks to Davita Callaghan Road Dialysis, and the nurses and doctors at St. Luke Baptist Hospital ICU for their kind treatment of Sylvia. Visitation will be Sunday, January 16 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. The funeral mass will be Monday, January 17, 2011 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church at 7:30 A.M. Internment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
