Terrel Duane Harris

Terrel was born on October 21, 1965 in Abilene, TX to Don & Virginia (Mcintosh) Harris. Terrel attended Cross Plains schools from K-12th grade graduating in 1984. He participated in many sports in school. He excelled at golf and was a proud member of the inaugural golf team to represent Cross Plains High School which qualified for state in their first year. Terrel attended Western Texas College in Snyder and then on to Texas Tech University where he graduated in 1989 with a degree in Physical Education. Terrel's love for sports led him to a career in coaching. Terrel married Anette Ledbetter in 1988. They had three children; Becca (1991), Trent (1993), & Jenny Beth (1995). In 2000 Terrel received his Masters from TX A&M Corpus at which point he became a School Counselor. He continued in that role for remainder of his education career. Later in life, Terrel married Christy Otto and gained two bonus children, Cassidy & AJ. Terrel & Christy welcomed his youngest child, Tori in 2011. Terrel loved his family and was extremely proud of all of his children. His favorite times were holidays with the family, golf with his buddy's, homecoming with his classmates, traveling & casino trips with Christy, fishing with his kids, hunting (cruising the pasture in the warmth of a pickup), fantasy football, watching sports and movies, and everything Texas Tech. Terrel is survived by his wife, Christy Harris, children; Becca Harris, Trent Harris, Jenny Beth Murray (Andrew), Tori Harris, Cassidy Otto & AJ Otto. His Mother, Virginia Mcintosh Beard of Baird, TX, Father, Don Harris of Cross Plains, TX, Brother Troy Harris (Sharon) Stephenville, TX, Sister Tonya Dupre(Randy) San Angelo, TX. Step sister Misti Buchanan (Michael) Clyde, TX. Many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services for Terrel will be held on Wednesday, September 18, at 11:00 at the First United Methodist Church in Cross Plains, TX with Terry Simmons officiating. Visitation will be at the same location Tuesday the 17th from 5:30 to 7:30.

There will be no graveside services. Colorful attire requested.
