I only discovered this info on Tom today. Even though it has been 10 years, he is still missed. I was blessed to have made a number of good friends in the USAF and Tom was one of the best. I remember we driving his new VW from Tinker AFB to San Antonio on $1.90. Love those gas wars.

I didn't work with Tom that long at the TNRCC before he retired.  I do recall his smiling face, his quick wit and humor, and his eagerness to guide.  The photo montage certainly said to me: devoted family man who loved the outdoors.  Thank you for sharing Tom with us.

To know Tom is to know a man of God.  I was fortunate to witness Tom's faith in action.  While attending a prayer service with Tom and Cyril a woman in extreme spiritual distress entered the church.  The minister offered to pray for her but she rejected his offer by explaining that she was not worthy to be touched by him because she practiced voodoo. The minister's attempts to console her appeared to escalate her distress.  At the height of this emotional moment, Tom walked towards the lady and with his firm, calm, authoritative voice said to her, "Remember to whom you belong."  This allowed the woman to regain her composure and the minister was able to provide spiritual guidance to her.  That incident will remain with me for the rest of my life.

Tom was the kindest person, always cheerful even in the face of adversity, of which we had plenty at TNRCC.  My heart goes out to his family and friends.  If the measure of a man is the number of hearts broken at his passing, Tom was truly a giant.

Dear P.J., John and Katy,
We have fond memories of Cub Scout days.  Tom was such a great role model for our son.  He was always upbeat, always willing to help the boys.  The world has lost a very fine gentleman.  We send our love and condolences.

Tom Larkin was such a wonderful person. He was our vanpool driver from South Austin to the TCEQ for years. May he rest in peace.

I enjoyed working with Tom at TCEQ; he was a true gentleman, kind-hearted and patient and friendly to all.

Tom and I became friends at UT in the 70s when we were in met school together. Tom was loved and admired by all who knew him.  He was a genuinely nice person who never met a stranger.

Tom was truly a warm, kindhearted and always thoughtful person.  I remember his love of the outdoors and his stories of driving a jeep over high passes in the San Juan mountains.  Thank you for including photos.  I feel fortunate that he was part of my work life at the TACB and TNRCC.

I will always remember Tom as a kind and gentle soul, who went to great lengths to accomplish things at TNRCC/TCEQ. He was instrumental in getting our South Austin vanpool started and keeping it going for many years.

I hired Tom when he first started working for the State of Texas with the old Texas Water Development Board. Over the years we worked together on a number of Weather Modification research projects in West Texas.  Many years later when I needed help in finding a job with the State, it was Tom who came thru for me.  I think of Tom, P.J. and his children often.  He will be missed terribly by all who knew him.

I also worked with Tom at TNRCC/TCEQ. Without a doubt, he was one of the most kindhearted, pleasant and caring person ever. We loved having him around and have lots of good memories of him. We were blessed to have him for as long as we did. Well done good and faithful servant. God bless your family. Helen Cox

Tom was a great colleague during my days with state emergency management, when we relied on him for weather expertise. I admired his knowledge and his great attitude. He will be missed.

Tom and I hired on at the TACB at about the same time to work for Cyril in the air quality modeling section. It was my good fortune to work with Tom. He was a great co-worker,and a genuinely nice guy.  My memories of him are a blessing I will always cherish.

Tom was a good friend and co-worker.  When I started back in the TACB days, he showed me the ropes, and became my best friend.  We shared many a meeting and meal together.  I'll always miss him.  He was the best.

I always enjoyed working with Tom.  His attitude and smile made work enjoyable. So long Tom.

So glad I was fortunate to spend time with Tom and get to know Katy, John, and PJ.  You guys are a great family.  We will all remember Tom fondly.  Thanks for sharing the great pictures. These help me clearly visualize some of the stories he told me about his younger days !

Tom was a much admired and valuable member of the Air Quality Air Modeling and Data Analysis Section of the TCEQ (TNRCC).  He was always friendly and bought much to the job every day.  May he rest in peace.
