

Always known as Mac, he was born in Moorpark, California to Ethel Josephine Carver MacDonald and Charles A. MacDonald. He married Frances “Irish” Josephine Mullins on December 1, 1960 in Newhall, California. They remained married until her death in 2007. He missed her always and never remarried.
He served in the Air Force for four years. After the Air Force, he began his career for the FAA Air Traffic Controller. He worked at the San Antonio FAA facility until his retirement.
Mac had a spunky and enthusiastic spirit. He supported many community efforts. Upon retirement, Mac became a volunteer usher at the Majestic Theatre . He was a longtime volunteer for KLRN. Each evening of the KLRN Auction would find him there creating energy and enthusiasm for the volunteer phone line volunteers. He gave regular blood donations, receiving many awards for his efforts. He participated in nonprofit organization fundraisers using his Auction skills and Casino Night Support. He was a member of the American Legion Post 592. His friendship, time and talents were greatly appreciated and will be missed.
Mac is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ethel and his son, Sean Gordon MacDonald.
Mac is survived by his daughters, Lynn Ann MacDonald McWilliams and Lisa Kay MacDonald Fawver as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30am on January 15, 2026 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
