

Tommy P. Jimenez, born February 15, 1924 was called home by the Lord on January 21, 2012, at the age of 87. Tommy served the United States Navy as a Seaman 1st Class during WWII. Following the war, he continued to serve his country as a Logistics Supervisor at Kelly Air Force Base. Tommy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was much loved and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Jimenez and Cordelia Parada Jimenez; daughter, Sylvia A. Jimenez, nephew, Sammy Acosta; sisters, Angela Madrid, Sara Jimenez and Martina Muzquiz. Tommy is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rusila Triviso Jimenez; his children, Barbara J. Alarcon, Bernice A Garcia and Annette C. Jimenez; grandchildren, Kelly J. and Adriana R. Vallejo, Amanda J. and Phillip T. Alarcon, Thomas P and Melanie C. Garcia, Alejandro Jimenez, Raquel and Marcos Jimenez-Cedillo; great-grandchildren, Lindsey R. Benavides, Briana C. and Fallon C. Cardenas; nieces and nephews, John and Alex Acosta, Connie Garza, Mary Guttierrez and Gloria Duron; long time family friend, Ricardo Cedillo and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with a rosary at 7:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 10:00pm at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, 14714 Edgemont, San Antonio, TX 78247. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of North Central Baptist Hospital for the exceptional care given to Mr. Jimenez.
