

Melvin was very active at Baptist Temple Church for many years, serving as Deacon, Sunday School Dept. Director and Teacher and many other activities. He worked for City Public Service for over 43 years.
Melvin served in the Pacific on a Destroyer in the US Navy during WWII. He enjoyed fishing at the Texas gulf Coast with Jimmy Walker, Weldon Frazelle and other friends.
Melvin was a loving husband to his devoted wife, Jean of 73 years and a caring and supporting father to his sons.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife Jean. He is also survived by his sons, Travis R. Williams and wife, Shannon; David M. Williams and Mark E. Williams and wife, Mary; his grandchildren, Travis D. Williams and wife, Holly, Debra L. Olsen and husband, Garrett; Aaron M. Williams and Matthew S. Williams and great-grandchildren, Tessa Williams and Evan Williams.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Baptist Temple Church.
