He was born October 17, 1967, graduated from Robert E. Lee High School, South Texas State University and University of Texas with a Masters Degree in International Business.
Ty was general manager of Custom Forest Products in Arlington, Texas. He was a member of Gateway Church an Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Ty Merrick was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Jean Merrrick. He is survived by his wife, Karla; his son, Cole Edward; his daughter, Tori; his father, Edward H. Merrick, Jr.; his uncle, Dan H. Hanke and wife, Genie; his cousins, Dan W. Hanke and wife, Kathy, Diane Brandt and husband, Jim; his mother-in-law, Jane Cole and father-in-law, James A. Cole.
