Maj. James D. Berg, USAF (Ret), age 66, passed away August 23, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born December 4, 1942, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Bernard and Helen Berg. A graduate of Purdue University, he served for 20 years in the United States Air Force. He was a store manager for Mattress Firm for over 8 years. His hobbies included stamp collecting and astronomy. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Helene M. Berg; daughters, Debbie Willey, Cheryl Hood and husband Brian, Lynette Featherstone and husband Sean, Michelle Moon and husband Andy; grandchildren, Kendall Willey, Matthew Willey, Brittany Hood, Brayden Hood, Bella Moon, James Berg Featherstone, and Charlette Hood; brother, Ray Berg and wife Lois; three nephews and one niece.
