Val McCollough, age 82, of San Antonio, died Saturday, November 30, 2002. She was born on May 28, 1920 in Evansville, Indiana. Val was a Wave in the United States Navy. She met and married Clyde McCollough, Jr., while both were in the Navy and stationed in Florida. Val was active for many years at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and was well known to many people at San Antonio City Hall, where her husband Clyde worked for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde C. McCollough, Jr. Survivors: daughter, Lynn Thornton; sons, Chuck McCollough and wife, Elaine and Danny McCollough, all of San Antonio; grandchildren, Chip Weakland, Wichita, KS, Valerie Livingston and Keith McCollough, both of San Antonio; 4 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
