Vesta was born on April 21, 1953, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Although she was a longtime resident of San Antonio, Texas, she spent her youth as a nomad with her army family—living in Germany, Italy, and at various stations across the United States. She kept that spirit of adventure throughout her life but, most importantly, she learned the true meaning of family at a young age.
She is survived by her mother and namesake, Vesta Ann Flaggert, eight siblings, their spouses, and many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews—all of whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her father, James John Flaggert, Jr., and her beloved grandparents. She goes to be in God's loving care.
Vesta worked as a nurse for many years before returning to school to earn her MBA. She started her own company, Avionn Home Care, which she ran for over 20 years. Vesta had a huge heart, with room for all her friends, employees, clients, and patients. She genuinely cared for everyone and made each person feel special.
Vesta loved to cruise with her sisters, watch old movies, and share laughter and joy with her nieces and nephews. Above all, she loved being with her family and sharing her generous heart with all of us. She cherished the holidays when the entire family gathered together at her home. Her heart was full of boundless love.
Please join us for a celebration of her life at 2 PM on December 7th at The Quarry Golf Course Clubhouse, 444 E. Basse Road.
