

Victor Ibarra Jr., age 61, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Kerrville VA Medical Center in Kerrville, Texas. Victor was born in Laredo, Texas on June 4, 1962, to parents, Carmen Sevilla and Victor Ibarra Sr.
A true patriot, Victor exemplified the Air Force's core values throughout his illustrious 20+ enlisted-year career, earning himself the rank of Master Sergeant. His leadership, discipline, and selflessness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Victor was a man of deep faith, showing his unwavering commitment through service by becoming a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus member of the Bishop Northrop Council 2207 in Sumter, South Carolina. Victor’s relentless devotion to his country, his faith, and his loved ones defined life for him, marked by integrity, courage, and compassion.
As a loving husband, father, and friend, Victor created a legacy of warmth and kindness. His compassion and guidance touched the lives of many, fostering a sense of community and support within his family, friends, colleagues, Knights of Columbus brothers, Boy Scout members, medical personnel, working staff, and anyone who had the pleasure of interacting with him.
Victor is survived by his faithful wife of 37 years, Anna L. Ibarra; son, Victor Christopher Ibarra; daughter, Alejandra“Allie” R. Ibarra; granddaughter, Iris Milabella Ibarra; his mother, Carmen Sevilla Ibarra; and brother, Gerard “Jerry” Ibarra and his wife, Ruth Ibarra.
Victor’s spirit will forever soar in the hearts and memories of those who had the privilege of knowing him. In honoring his memory, let us reflect on the profound impact he made in the service of his country, the strength of his faith, cherished moments with friends, and the enduring love he shared with his devoted family.
The family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave.
A rosary will take place on Wednesday at 7:00 pm, December 20, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Henry's Catholic Church, 1619 S. Flores St.
Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, theaftd.org., in Victor Ibarra Jr.‘s name.
