
Victor Antonio Lucero, 48, Boerne Texas, passed away on November 2, 2013, in San Antonio. Victor was born May 7, 1965, in San Antonio, and was raised by Jose (Pepe) Lucero and Norma Lucero. Victor graduated from Clark High School in San Antonio, and graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a BBA.
Victor was an active soccer player through adulthood and played with various Premier Soccer Leagues in South Texas. At SWTSU, he was also state-ranked in collegiate fencing. Victor was a Program Manager at USAA for several years and also enjoyed working with Christian Senior Services and various other local volunteer organizations. His greatest joy in life was being involved in his children's sports, music, and school activities.
He is survived by his wife, Gene Anne Weaver Lucero, and daughters Victoria, Devon, and Caitlin Lucero, all of Boerne; mother, Yvonne Young, of Portland, Oregon; father, Jose (Pepe) Lucero of Washington, D.C., sister Lisa Lucero Stovall and family of San Antonio; brother-in-law Jim Frank Weaver and family of San Antonio; and niece Randa Walden and family of La Vernia. He was preceded in death by Norma Lucero; grandmother, Jewell Young; mother-in-law, Alice Anne Weaver; father-in-law, Gene C. Weaver; and step-father, Detlev Casey. There are many, many friends to thank, but especially the Champion High School Band, as well as the Rostad, Sewell, and Tyson families for all of their support during this difficult time. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association.
