Viola Stewart went to her Heavenly Home on December 29, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 96. She was born in Shiner, Texas on December 13, 1925 to Charles and Mary (Konecny) Macha. Vi had two older brothers that she loved dearly. Her Daddy passed away on her 8th birthday. Her sweet Momma worked hard to take care of her family by herself during the depression. Vi attended Shiner schools and made life-long friends there. After graduation, she moved to California to work and live with her brother and his family for a year. She returned to Shiner, then to Houston where she met her ever-lovin’ husband, Roy Stewart, on a blind date. They married on July 20, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas.
Vi was a member of Cornerstone Church. Roy adored Vi, she was a true Woman of Valor. Read Proverbs 31:10-31. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved cooking, painting and making special gifts from her heart for her family. A homemaker always working hard for her family and her church family. Her love for our Lord shown through in her daily life. She had a sweet spirit that everyone loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her son, Bobby; her parents and siblings.
She is survived by her three loving daughters: Carol (Gary) Putnam, Susan (Mark) Jackley, and Tricia (Tommy) Howell; seven grandchildren: John (Megan) Putnam, Steven (Michelle) Jackley, Justin (Brittany) Jackley, Lauren (JT) Martin, Amber (Brad) Hodgson, Sarah (Cliff) Real, and Tommy Ray (Peyton) Howell; and thirteen great-grandchildren: Kaylee Putnam, Caiden Putnam, Cami Jackley, Ellie Jackley, Jules Jackley, Kinsler Martin, Lowe Hodgson, Kiki Hodgson, Neeley Hodgson, Waylon Real, Teddy Real, Tess Howell and Romy Howell.
Her family would like to give a special thank you to Four Seasons Hospice.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022 followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Chapel. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Rev. John C. Hagee officiating. The service will be live-streamed on the Sunset Funeral Home Facebook page.
