Virginia J. Carpenter, age 76, died Sunday, May 26, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Harry Carpenter, San Antonio, TX; daughters, Kitty Carpenter, Austin, TX and Suzi Backstrom and her husband Kurt Backstrom; grandsons, Ian and Ben Backstrom, all of Knoxville, TN; son, Dr. Chris Carpenter and his wife Katie, West Chester, PA; son, Maj. Doug Carpenter and his wife Diane; granddaughter, Erin Carpenter, all of Peach Tree City, GA; brother, Dr. Carl Wagener and his wife Mary, niece Karen Wagener; nephews, Mark Wagener and Mike Wagener and his wife Leticia; great-niece, Hillary Wagener; great-nephew, Michael Wagener, all of San Antonio, TX; dearest friends, Walt & Joan Peters, Dunwoody, GA.
