Virginia was a hardworking, gentle lady with a great sense of humor who was a fantastic example of the "greatest generation", devoted to her family, unselfish and quietly strong. She married her childhood sweetheart, Marcus Grant Jr., in Missouri and they soon moved to San Antonio where they raised their three children. She loved golf and chocolate (not necessarily in that order) and she delighted in the escapades of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Marcus and Wanda Grant, Mavis and Rick Brown, Donald Grant; her brother, Don Harper and his wife Mackie; grandchildren, Michael Grant, Christopher Grant, Rick Brown Jr., Kyle Brown, Scott Brown, Aubrie Grant, Phillip Thomas and five great-grandchildren.
Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marcus Grant Jr.; her sister, Linda Metzner; and her brother, Joe Harper.
The family will have a private interment at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
