

Ginny was born at Clark AFB in the Philippines Islands to Wilbur and Myra Marks on February 13, 1948. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and then Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas with a Nursing Degree and went on to enter the US Army. She served as an Operation Room Nurse and was stationed in some amazing locations; Aberdeen Proving Ground, Ft. Benning Georgia, Bangkok Thailand, Presidio California, Tripler Hawaii, Ft. Carson Colorado, Augsburg Germany, Vicenza Italy, Ft. Hood Texas, Ft. Bragg North Carolina. She had a brief 8-month tour with the 47th Field Hospital in Bahrain during the Gulf War. She served 23 years and was awarded (Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal [3rd Award], Army Commendation Medal [2nd Award], Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, National Defense Service Award [2nd Award], Vietnam Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars [BSS] Vietnam Campaign Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal).
She learned to scuba dive when she turned 50 years old, so she could keep up with her daughter, and both were involved with The Dive Pirates Foundation. However, she traveled and dove more places than her daughter has. Ginny became big into Genealogy Research, which led her to the San Antonio Genealogical Society where she worked as Librarian and to the become a part of the Daughters of The American Revolution (DAR).
Ginny is preceded in death by her mother Myra Marks and father Wilbur Marks.
Ginny is survived by Christina Pulliam-daughter, Ava Noelle Pulliam-Granddaughter, Noah Thomas Pulliam-Grandson, William Marks- Brother and his wife Janie Marks, Nephew Doug Marks his wife Kendra and their daughters Caroline and Rebecca Marks, Nephew Steven Marks his sons Brice and Barrett Marks and his wife Kristen Marks.
Funeral services will be held 10am 16 May 2024, at Sunset Funeral Home with Father Noy Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.
