

Wallace Frank Payette, Jr. passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at the age of 82. He was a San Antonio native, graduating from Harlandale High School in 1946. He also graduated from Texas A&I University and worked for San Antonio’s City Public Service Board for 27 years eventually serving as the Manager of Engineering. After leaving CPSB, he worked for Medina Electric Co-op as Chief Engineer, Poleline Electric, and retired from GHMR as a Manufacture Representative. He was a long-time member of the Chamber of Commerce winning many awards for bringing in new members. He was a 50 year member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons, Albert Pike Lodge. He was a member of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers serving as president of the Bexar County chapter in 1974. Wally was also active in church, serving as past church-school superintendent and past chairman of the Administrative Board of Laurel Heights United Methodist Church and as past chairman of the Administrative Board of Coker United Methodist Church.
Wally was a gregarious person who never met a stranger or lost a friend. His favorite place in the world was his lake house on Lake L.B.J. in Kingsland. There was always a party going on and taking his guests on a moonlight boat cruise brought him great pleasure.
He also participated in the Parkinson’s Outreach Program of SA and Center for Movement Disorders where he made many friends.
Wally is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Edie) Daniel Payette; the mother of his daughters, Ann Price Payette; his daughters Rebecca Lynn Luna and husband John, Laura Ann Wolle and husband Wayne, and Cynthia Sue Payette; and 5 grandchildren, Miles Luna, Dylan Luna, Emily Mata, Shannon Mata, and R.J. Yawn; stepsons, Jeff Daniel, Steve Daniel and his wife Lisa and step-grandchildren, Jake and Josh Daniel. He made friends wherever he was and leaves many of them behind.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 2PM to 4PM at Sunset Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 10AM at Sunset Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Parkinson’s Foundation, www.parkinson.org or to ASPCA, www.aspca.org.
