
The Scottsdale, AZ, resident joined his wife, Dorothy Anderson, who preceded him in 1994. Walter, affectionately known as Andy, was born in East Orange, NJ, on July 25, 1924.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and later joined the Minnesota Air National Guard. Walter was a MSGT and was honored by the 128th Security Police Flight, Milwaukee WI, with an annual award named after him.
He retired from the military in 1977 after 27 years of service, Walter later worked in law enforcement and as a farmer, during which time he became a foster parent for two boys. He retired in Northport, FL, in 1985.
In 1990, Walter moved to San Antonio, TX, where he became an avid bingo player, a hobby he would go on to share with his family.
He moved to Belleville, IL in 1995 to live with son Walter's family, and joined them in relocating to Las Vegas, NV in 1999.
In 2010, Walter moved to Scottsdale AZ to be near son Allen.
Walter is survived by his three children Georgianne (Joel), Walter (Shelley) and Allen (Kathy), and five grandchildren Bradley, Stefanie, Vicki, Phillip and Steven, as well as his two great grandchildren Michael and Loralei.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 13th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 7893 Grissom Road beginning at 9:00 A.M.
