Weldon Williams entered rest on February 25th, 2011, at the age of 98. He was born November 5th 1912, to Dr. Dee and Fannie Lewis Williams in Anson, Texas. He had a younger brother, Grundy. Their father was the only son of a blacksmith. Dee had five sisters and attended Vanderbilt for college and medical school. He had to wait until his 21st birthday before he could practice medicine in Anson. He died suddenly when Weldon was twelve years old. Weldon had a first cousin Brandon Shappard who became a friend and mentor to him after his father's death. Weldon attended the University of Texas in Austin, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He loved airplanes and had a Luscombe airplane, number NC28898. That airplane carried him and his bride to New Orleans on their wedding trip and was the scene of their son Ron's first airplane ride as a newborn. The university and airplane years held many fond memories and stories for him. In Dallas Weldon worked in the commercial real estate business for many years. He was predeceased by his father, mother and brother. He leaves behind wife Marjorie Renee Rouse Williams, son Ronald Williams, his wife Lynne and grandson Brandon Lewis Williams. He and Margie moved to San Antonio from Dallas in 2010 to be closer to their family. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Forum in San Antonio for their care and devotion to him and also Diana Scruggs who cared for him well.
