

Wilbur moved to San Antonio with his family when he was three. His home has been in San Antonio ever since. He attended Alamo Heights Schools and graduated from T.M.I. in 1945. After a year in the Navy he attended The University of Texas and graduated with a BBA and a LLB. While at the University he was a member and President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and a member of the Silver Spurs. After graduation he became a licensed attorney in the state of Texas. He was a member of the State Bar of Texas and the San Antonio Bar Association until he left the law firm to join his father's business, Littleton Tire Company. He became President in 1963 and operated the company until 1985. He then returned to a career in law at Thorton Summer Biechlin Durham Brown until his final retirement in 2002.
During the years he was very active in civic affairs. He served as Director of National Tire Dealers Association and President of the Texas Tire Dealers Association. He was a Director of the Alamo Area Boy Scouts, the Research and Planning Council, the Children's Shelter, the Red Cross, the San Antonio Manufacturer's Association, and the Harlandale NBC Bank of San Antonio. He was a Director of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and served for many years on the Steering Committee of the Chamber Military Affairs Council representing the 5th Army Commander. The following is a quote from the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, April 1985. "Mr. Littleton has been a member of The Chamber's Board of Directors and has been a guiding force and strong backer of our active Military Affairs Council. We consider Mr. Littleton and his firm to be vital parts of San Antonio and one of The Chamber's good friends and supporters."
He was a graduate of the Air Force Security Forum, Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base in 1981. He was also a graduate of the Army and National Security Seminar, Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He served as Co-Chairman of the Army Community Council and the Air Force Community Council. He was Director and Vice-President of the AFA-Texas.
He was a member of the Alamo Kiwanis Club and served as their Director and Vice-President. He was a member of The Town Club and served as their President. He was a member of The Texas Cavaliers and served as Commander and King Antonio LVI in 1978. He was also a member of The Order of the Alamo, San Antonio Country Club, and The Argyle. He was very active in the Fiesta San Antonio Commission, serving on their Board of Directors for several years and then as their President.
In addition to his many civic activities he was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church for over 50 years. He was Chairman of the Board of St. David's Day School and served on the vestry and school board several times.
With all of his activities, his greatest interest was always his beloved wife, Jean, their children, and their grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean; his daughter, Debra McCloskey; sons, Rick and his wife, Dianne, Park and his wife, Carol; eight grandchildren, Colton McCloskey, Chance McCloskey, Stacy and her husband Joel Hoyt, Lance Littleton, Blair Littleton, Shane and his wife Emily Littleton, Brittany Littleton, Cameron Littleton, and two great grandchildren, Cooper Hoyt and Hunter Littleton.
Wilbur said, "I was fortunate in having each of you and it was truly a great roller coaster ride." Wilbur was loved by both family and friends and will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to extend grateful thanks to the wonderful staff at Colonial Gardens for their loving care to Wilbur.
